Straumann Implants
A dental implant mimics nature: like a natural root, it is firmly anchored in the jaw and holds the tooth in place. The implant is a small part made of titanium or titanium zirconium alloy – materials generally well-tolerated by the human body. Also, titanium has been shown to bond well with the human bone.
The dental implant is surgically inserted under local anesthetic. Once healed, the artificial root (implant) acts as a base for the visible portion of the tooth (restoration).
The dental implant can be used to replace:● An individual tooth.● More than one tooth.● All teeth.
Treatment: single tooth replacement
● An implant is designed to replace the missing root and to act as a support for the implant crown. The healthy neighboring teeth do not have to be ground down and their substance remains intact.● Replacement of a single tooth with an implant-supported crown in the front region.● Replacement of a single tooth with an implant-supported crown in the side region
Treatment: replacement of more than one tooth
● A bridge can be placed on two or more implants. As opposed to treatment with a conventional bridge, the healthy neighboring teeth are not damaged.● Replacement of several teeth using an implant-supported bridge in the front region.● Replacement of several teeth using an implant-supported bridge in the side region.
Treatment: replacement of all teeth

Both solutions are designed to offer more stability than conventional prostheses and look natural.
